one of first residents to live on man-made palm-shaped island in dubai

andrew dukes, 43, is one of the first 100 residents to live on the palm-shaped man-made island in dubai. he paid 500,000 pounds for his mansion a few years ago and now it is worth twice the amount he paid. talk about an investment.

the coastal development is led by dubai government-owned nakheel. the development consists of three massive palm-shaped islands along with a group of 300 islets built in the shape of a world map. the islands are made mostly of bright sand reclaimed up from the seabed.
